Blackberry Fox with Blue Trousers - Original watercolour 8.5x10cm

A small handful of blackberries. A little foxy wearing her finest blue pantaloons, and that lovely moment in early autumn when the hedgerows begin offering up their treasures.

I wanted to paint something sweet in celebration of Mabon, the Pagan Autumn Equinox — a time for gathering, gratitude and noticing the hedgerow gifts that have been swelling and ripening over the last few weeks of summer. 

I don't often sell small watercolours, but after the summer we've had, its time to exhale, and enjoy the cooler calm that autumn is bringing and this is in celebration of that! 

I created this piece with layers of acrylic wash, watercolour, coloured pencil and pen, the piece is full of tiny details, warm autumn feeling and a little woodland mischief. A gentle reminder to pause, gather what nourishes you, and give thanks for this changing season.
