The Bones of the Matter
Share
I have to admit, telling people I collect bones is not the best ice breaker. Sometimes its the full stop in a conversation, followed by an awkward enquiry into the lastest Netflix drama. But I'm not about safe ground. I'm about bones.
I love bones, and am always on the look out for them, as I travel around. They carry the essence and the story of a life lived. They are what is left, after we leave and they are beautiful to me. I have collected fox, hare, badger, deer, horse, seal, sheep, owl, buzzard, heron, and an assortment of unidentified bone. I respectfully and lovingly create these into totems, often working with my ocean sister of the West, who first taught me to love their white, pulsing magic.
Sometimes people send me bones that they have found, either washed up on the shoreline (the very best, as the salt water and sand makes them sparkly white) or on walks over moors - and commission me to draw artwork on to them. I've made totems, drum beaters, and am about to incorporate them into weaving, so if you'd like to know more, and be the first to buy one of my creations (they sell very fast) then hit subscribe below and join my coven - well email list, lets keep it real :)
